Mel had the pleasure of delivering a 2 day workshop around best practice for assessment writing to a local foster care agency in late August. With topics covering how to write assessments with a Strengths based practice framework, combined with the new Child Protection framework, the focus was on how to complete an assessment process, rather than ‘fill in the boxes’. Feedback from the course was fantastic, with workers noting how positive it was to talk about and learn new ways of approaching assessment topics, including confrontation and challenging skills, using case scenarios and evidencing the Statement of Standards.
