Bachelor in Social Science (Human Services)
Storm has been working with children and families in Queensland since 2007. She completed a Bachelor in Social Science (Human Services) before commencing employment with the Department of Communities, Child Safety Services, where she worked as a Child Safety Officer.
Storm developed her practice through a number of roles within the not for profit sector, including individual casework, community education/ development, program coordination, training and assessment. She completed her Cert IV in Training and Assessment in 2011 and is certified to facilitate a number of parenting and fostering related training programs.
From 2009, Storm’s work has been primarily focused on working with carers, children and young people within the foster care system. During this time she has developed a passion for training and assessment to ensure carers and agency staff are well equipped to meet the individual and ever-changing needs of children and young people placed in out-of-home care.
Storm’s practice framework includes a strength- based, solution focused approach, which is informed by trauma, attachment and child development theories.
Storm joined Social Care Solutions in 2016, providing foster carer assessments, which are strongly influenced by the CARE practice framework.
