Kathy has worked within the field of family support for over 12 years. After graduating from USQ with a Bachelor of Science-Applied Psychology in 2004, Kathy worked as a child and youth counsellor within a Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Service for nearly 5 years. Kathy went on to study Masters of Social Work- Professional Qualifying through JCU. From 2011-2015 Kathy worked as a mental health clinician with children who had experienced complex trauma and were living in out of home care. Since the end of 2015, Kathy has been working as a Senior Social Worker in a hospital setting in the area of child protection. Kathy also provides clinical supervision in a private practice capacity for community workers and other social workers, both in her community and in rural Qld, who work with children and families that have experienced trauma. Kathy’s framework for practice is heavily embedded with attachment theory; trauma informed practice and working systemically with multiple key people in a child/young person’s life to understand their journey.
Kathy is the proud mum of 4 children.
