Aimee graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2000. Her career focus has been working with children and families with particular emphasis on using strengths based, solution-focused practice to enhance parenting skills and ensure the safety of children. Aimee has worked in a range of government and non-government agencies both in Australia and London, ranging from child protection agencies; specialist court assessment programs; therapeutic and family support roles.
Aimee has worked as a Child Protection Worker in the Initial Response team for the Department of Human Services in Melbourne and in the Family Court Assessment Service in London, producing comprehensive court reports where children were at risk of harm.
During her time at the Family Alcohol Service in London Aimee worked in a multi-disciplinary team providing therapy to adults, children and families, specifically with regards to parental alcohol misuse. Similarly, while working for Uniting Care Connections in Melbourne Aimee worked as a family counselor, supporting families struggling with issues including child protection concerns; family violence; poverty; and drug and alcohol misuse.
Aimee has also worked as a primary school teacher’s aide using her social work skills to promote confidence and self-esteem in students. In 2013, working in a volunteer capacity, Aimee coordinated and facilitated a Community Based Marriage Enrichment Course.
Aimee joined Social Care Solutions in 2015 and is the proud mother of three young children.
